My garage door isn’t opening. My spring broke. My remote needs a new battery. I need to replace my cables, extension springs, pulleys or cables.

These are all things we hear everyday at our parts counter. For do-it-yourself repairs and replacements, our knowledgeable experts are here to help.  Feel free to visit our friendly parts staff Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Here are some helpful tips to get the right parts for your broken garage door.
extensionsprings

Extension Springs: Vary in size

  1. Door Size (Width & Height)
  2. Model/Brand of Door
  3. Are there windows in the garage door?
  4. Is the garage door insulated?
  5. Is it a wood or steel garage door?

Bring in the answers to these questions with your old extension spring.

Cables: Made to Order

  1. Measure the Door (Width x height)
  2. Does the door have Torsion Springs or Extension Springs?
  3. What type of ends are on the cables?
  4. If you can’t bring the actual cable in, pictures of the cable ends & spring set-up can be helpful.
  5. What is the cable length?

Bottom Rubber: Every manufacturer uses different bottom rubber. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to stock every variety.

  1. Measure the width of your door.
  2. Find the brand of the door.
  3. Bring a sample in with you or take a picture.

Vinyl Doorstops/Weatherseal

  1. Measure the exterior opening for the garage door. (Width x Height)
  2. What color doorstops do you have?
  3. Do you have a square opening or 45 degree corners?

  1. Manufacturer name & model of electric operator
  2. Remotes-get the part # off the back & Brand
